POSITION TITLE:                            Continuous Improvement /Launch Specialist

Reports To:                    Launch Manager
Qualifications:             The ideal candidate should have the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment with proven experience using common continuous improvement tools (i.e. Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) a solid understanding and ability to use multiple problem solving tools such as: Fishbone and Ishikawa Diagrams, 8-D's, Is / Is Not, 5 Why's, etc. in addition to, the ability to be an effective team member and display initiative along with a good understanding of statistics, problem solving, manufacturing processes, and computers etc.

The Launch Specialist at our IMA Louisville manufacturing facility is responsible for executing successful product launches and is responsible for assisting the execution of products under development to ensure all objectives are fulfilled.

  • Ensures the product meets or exceeds Company quality standard and is delivered at the right time.
  • Facilitates the communication and interaction amongst the functional department representatives.
  • Assists in preparation of materials for production floor
  • Helps address and resolve program "roadblocks" through the appropriate functional team members
  • Assist in IATF 16949/ISO 14001 maintenance.
  • Thoroughly evaluate all customer returns and determine root causes.
  • Communicate build concerns to work areas.
  • Publish Quality Alerts as required.
  • Monitor PRR System for customer problems (coordinate responses with QA Manager) (assigned quality engineer).
  • Coordinate seat replacement and pickup requirements.
  • Communicate daily with customers (phone or visit).
  • Follow up to ensure that standard work instructions, control plans & process FMEA address all customer build concerns.
  • Provides leadership for continuous improvement activities post launch.
  • Ensures internal and external documentation requirements are met.
  • Recommend and lead efforts to improve existing processes to improve the business.
  • Compiles data and prepares a variety of reports and presentations.
  • Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, external vendors or customers.
  • Assure that quality documentation on production floor is appropriate, meet requirements set forth on control plan, part prints and IATF 16949/ISO 14001.
  • Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Investigates questionable data.
  • Other duties as assigned
    -Ideal candidate should have minimum 5 years’ experience and/or 4-year Engineering degree in a manufacturing environment
    -Good written/verbal skills.
    -Strong attention to detail with accuracy.
    -Good organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
    -Solid oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs
