ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Provide technical support to production.
Maintain plant layouts, plc programs, and secondary programmable devices.
Contact and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors and suppliers.
Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
Recommend purchases and upgrades for production equipment.
Set up and maintain adequate parts to minimize machine downtime.
Manage the maintenance records of machines in regards to the preventative maintenance program.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Actively participate in self-directed work team model.
Assist in launch programs as necessary.
Confer with other Engineers to coordinate activities.
Follow ISO14001 and TS16949 procedures/processes.
It is the responsibility of the CONTROLS ENGINEER to take appropriate action and to effectively communicate where necessary and observations which may impact AA LLC’s ability to manufacture a quality product and to achieve an on time delivery.  Individual actions which should be taken into account are as follows:
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance’s related to product, process and quality systems.
Identify and record any problems related to the product, process and quality system.
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
Verify implementation of solutions.
Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
Supervision of construction and/or contractor crews during capital or other facility projects.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E); two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with PLC’s (Control Logix, Mirco Logix, Compact Logix & SLC 500 –Rockwell Software) – being able to understand ladder logic and make programming changes.
Experience with automation equipment (i.e., industrial robots, automated guided vehicles and vision systems).
Experience with computer drafting software (AutoCAD).
